This book is an introduction to schematology, which is treated as an independent humanitarian discipline alongside semiotics. The author, a well-known Russian philosopher and cultural studies expert, introduces the concept of 'scheme' and analyzes various types of schemes - methodological, subject-specific, guiding, quasi-schemes, and others, created and used in methodology, philosophy, science, culture, and design. He tries to show that the analysis of schemes involves a special reconstruction of their formation and functioning. V.M. Rozin expresses the view that schematology plays a role in the humanities similar to the role of mathematics in the natural sciences.
The book is intended for a wide range of humanitarians - scholars, educators, students, as well as all interested readers.
