Introduction to deep drilling dynamics

Based on the fundamental concepts of the theory of mechanical systems with distributed parameters, a series of problems related to the influence of wave processes occurring in the drilling string on the efficiency of borehole deepening during the drilling of deep wells has been considered. Rock destruction is examined from the perspective of the close interaction between the borehole, rock-breaking tool, and drilling string. Issues arising from the use of dependencies of borehole deepening on operational parameters for the purpose of forecasting and optimizing the drilling process are discussed. Mathematical models describing the behavior of the drilling string during the drilling of vertical and deviated wells are presented. This book, which is a course of lectures, is primarily intended for those who have decided to dedicate themselves to scientific research: students and postgraduates, as well as teachers, engineering and technical workers, and anyone interested in the problems of drilling mechanics of deep wells.
