The old idea of creating an intraocular lens with the accommodating effect found its modern embodiment in multiphocus optics. The monograph is devoted to the history of the creation and development of multiphocus lenses and the peculiarities of their optical properties. The authors described in detail almost the entire set of multifocal artificial lens offered by manufacturers. Based on the information available in the available literature, the characteristics of their designs, optical properties and technological features of manufacturing are given.
The publication is interesting in that it explains the image forming mechanisms that provide the ability to see at different distances and are the basis for the clinical use of multifocal lenses and their design. In the domestic literature, this is the first experience of the systematization of the knowledge available in this field.
Separate interest is the experience of authors in the creation and clinical introduction of a domestic diffraction-refractive intraocular lens, on the example of which you can get acquainted in detail with this unusual technology. In the near future, further innovative changes are expected in this area, which means that the monograph will serve as a good foundation for mastering new knowledge.
The book is designed for ophthalmologists: doctors, orders, graduate students, interns, students of medical universities, as well as specialists engaged in the development, design and manufacture of optical vision correction tools
