The events of the novel “into the fire” unfold at the time of the prosperous “zero”. The ex-guitarist of the 1980s, changing the name, was again in Moscow. Compatriot"s associates send him with a secret mission to Ukraine. Once in the millstone of political and criminal intrigues, persecuted by local nationalists, the hero with honor fulfills his duty to his homeland.
The book also presents the works of the author, written by him in the 2010s: new stories, articles in the field of literature theory, continuing the study of the typology of the Russian antinigilistic novel and literary work of the science fiction writer I.A. Efremov.
In the Journalism section, reports on the situation in Ukraine in the 2000s are published. They reflect the growing economic and social contradictions between the liberal comprador Kyiv oligarchy and the labor industrial Donbass, which later led to a civil war in eastern Ukraine.
In the Appendix there are interviews with famous politicians of the Perestroika era, not published earlier, and a complete bibliography of the author’s publications.
The book is intended for a modern thoughtful reader, not indifferent to the fate of the native country and its adjacent territories
