The monograph provides a general overview and history of the development of the institution of interim measures in international justice, showing the variety of doctrinal assessments regarding the basis on which international courts have the right to adopt interim measures, as well as the controversial issue of the mandatory nature of such measures. The legal regulation and practice of applying interim measures by universal international courts (the UN International Court and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea) and regional human rights courts are analyzed in detail, emphasizing the diversity of criteria used by them to apply interim measures in specific cases. Separate consideration is given to the application of interim measures by courts of integration unions (the EU Court and the EAEU Court) and tribunals for investment disputes due to their specificity. The publication is intended for postgraduates, master's students, students, and teachers of law schools and faculties.
