Modern experimental methods of analyzing a stress-deformed state are presented, based on interference and optical methods of registering deformations or movements, including coherent-optical (holographic interferometry, spector-photography, electronic digital spectorometry) and polarization-optical methods, as well as the shadow method figures (kaustik) A certain place has been given to new promising developments performed in recent years in the field of experimental and calculated methods of studying residual stresses, determining the parameters of the destruction of materials, as well as methods for obtaining characteristics of deformation of materials.
