The informal map of Peter contains the names of the streets, squares, factories, universities, areas, monuments and everything that can be found in the city - as they affected the city folklore. The index list shows the applicable compliances of the folklore names of the objects to their official names or geographical position and the explanation of their origin. With varying degrees of fame of these folk toponyms, they are united by a few generations in the language everyday life, which is still living in the city on the Neva. The publication of certain names in the map does not undermine the personal preferences of its compilers and does not provide guidance towards more or less active use of specific toponyms. All names are given in the form in which they were collected by compilers from various sources. Published in the list of interpretation of the origin of individuals reflect the most reliably looking versions and do not contain subtexts. Any additional associations are beyond the competence of compilers, and remain at the discretion of the reader.
The map is intended for all admirers and experts of St. Petersburg, regardless of gender, permanent place of residence, social, cultural, property or other status. It is not recommended for operational orientation purposes in the city, but may have invaluable assistance in his best understanding
