The question of the effectiveness of social protection remains relevant: global and local challenges of various natures inevitably affect the social well-being of citizens and require a more functional and adaptive social protection system. Against the backdrop of the need to cover as many people as possible with the social protection system in conditions of limited economic resources, differences in the content of each person's needs in specific measures are becoming increasingly apparent - measures that would meet a unique request. Often, prevention or provision of a certain type of social security practically does not mean minimizing the probability or overcoming the consequences of the realization of social risks, as they do not take into account individual needs in social protection.
The monograph examines the prerequisites for the formation and factors of the content of an individual's need for social protection, highlights some ways of taking into account individual characteristics of a person and their individual needs in social protection using specific types of social security as examples. A part of the sphere of social protection is covered, namely some cases of social security, however, the question of taking into account individual needs has potential beyond the relationships considered.
The normative material used in the work is relevant as of May 1, 2022.
