The book "India in the Cultural Space of Russia from the 15th to the 20th Century" continues a series of publications dedicated to the exhibition projects of the State Museum-Reserve "Tsaritsyno", the common theme of which was the cultural dialogue between Russia and the East. The publication presents a comprehensive picture of the assimilation of Indian heritage by Russian culture - from ancient teachings and unique artifacts to cinema. The articles by indologists, art historians, and theater experts reveal various aspects of the study of India and the artistic interpretation of its traditions in Russian culture over several centuries. The articles are accompanied by images of objects from Russian museums, libraries, archives, and private collections. All of this allows for the first time to explore the Indian theme as one of the significant aspects of Russian orientalism. The illustrative series includes exhibits presented at the exhibition "Incredible India. A View from Russia", as well as rare museum objects and photographs not included in the exhibition. The publication is intended for a wide range of readers.
