The book of Dmitry Bavilsky, dedicated to travel, is composed of essays and stories written in the 21st century. In the first section of the collection entered the Greeting texts, where at first glance nothing happens. But St. Petersburg, and Tel Aviv, and Alma-Ata, and Burgundy turn out to be a frame for living both the happiest and most ordinary days of one, separate life. The second cycle of the collection is devoted to trips to the strange and at the same time the usual Ural city of Cherdachinsk, where the author has grown and from which he once left. In the third part of the book, D. Bavilsky reveals reception, describing the travelives of different eras and traditions (from N. Karamzin and I.-V. Goethe to E. Gipper and A. Bitova), which most people replace visits to exotic countries and cities. Reading - this is also a journey and sometimes a serious intellectual adventure
