In the land of sacred memories

The wonderful book "in the country of sacred memories" is a scientific description of the trip to the Holy Land in the summer of 1900 of the rector of the Moscow Spiritual Academy of the Bishop of Arseny (Stadnitsky), accompanied by professors and MDA students.
Editor and compiler of the book - Bishop Volokolamsky Arseny (Stadnitsky Avksente Georgievich, 1862-1936), in the future - Metropolitan, an outstanding figure of the Russian Orthodox Church, one of the three elected candidates for the Patriarchal Throne in the restoration of the Patriarchate on the Local Cathedral 1917-1918 gg. The 1900 expedition included a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences N. F. Kapteyev, author of well-known works on the history of Russian-Jerusalem ties, and Professor Bibleist V. N. Morstyzin. The book was written by students who later known in various fields of figures, this is N. E. Rumyantsev, M. V. Wiekec-Khovich, A. I. Nikolsky, as well as the future head of the RDM in Jerusalem Archim. Leonid (Sertzz).
This is the first academic pilgrimage in the domestic science (later Kazan, and Kyiv) will be made possible thanks to the comprehensive promotion of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian society. The book is of undoubted interest for historians of the Russian Church, diplomacy and the entire domestic culture of the turn of the XIX-XX centuries.
