The topic of this book is Russian religious painting of the second half of the XIX - the beginning of the 20th century, represented by the names of outstanding artists: A. Ivanova, N. Ge, M. Vrunets, I. Kramsky, V. Vasnetsova, M. Nesterov and others. As illustrations to the publication, not only paintings and drawings of these wonderful masters are included, but also created by the same mosaic and frescoes of a number of temples in Kyiv and Moscow. Not quite accustomed to the reader and the author"s conversation about them, bribing in sensitive and most important interest in religious themes in art
