This edition presents the philosophical work of V.F. Bulgakov in a dispute with Tolstoy: on the Libra of Life, written in 1932-1964, the author’s full correspondence with L.N. Tolstoy and S.A. Tolstoy and the letters of the Canadian spiritualists to V.F. . Bulgakov. A significant part of this unique material (except for the letters of L.N. Tolstoy and S.A. Tolstoy to Bulgakov) is published for the first time.
The long -term polemic of Bulgakov and Tolstoy is of particular interest, aggravating during his expulsion from Russia in 1923 to Prague, as well as upon returning to the Soviet Union in 1948 and staying in Yasnaya Polyana until his death in 1966 .
