The well-known novel of the remarkable writer Daniil Alexandrovich Granin (born in 1918) reveals the complex inner world of physical scientists, whose profession itself requires great efforts, outstanding courage and talent. Two people who are hopes for young physics - Sergey Krylov and Oleg Tulin - from a student bench seriously study such a natural phenomenon as a thunderstorm, and dream of learning to control the weather. But gradually their paths in science diverge: Oleg is ready to give up principles for the sake of success, and Sergei believes that the truth is more expensive ...
