In one of his biographical notes, Gennady Prashkevich wrote:
"Born on the Yenisei (Siberia) I have been living (for more than half a century) in the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok. I saw different seas, traveled along different edges - from the southern to the northern to the northern, to the polar ones. Lonely northern peoples are close to me. Yukagirs, Dolgans, Shoromboy men, cheekchi, Lamuts, Kereki, Olyubens, Kamchadals and other, other. In winter, the greenish reflections of the northern lights, in the summer - the endless clouds of a task vile. Endless nomads. Lack of time ". True, the writer adds, in all eras and times, the inhabitants of the tundra (like many prehistoric peoples, in his opinion) were no less masters than ancient Greeks.
The book uses the remarkable drawings of the writer"s friends - artists Alexander Shurits ("Sendushny Tales"), Edward Gorokhovsky (" I saw a snow man) and Nuria Ravilova ("White Mammoth"), made precisely to the works that compiled this book
