A detective about an investigator with an unusual practice of "silent interrogation." He does not ask the suspect questions, but only listens attentively to his inner state. The guilty party will definitely reveal himself.
In Moscow, under mysterious circumstances, a young artist named David dies. The police are convinced that it was suicide due to an overdose of sleeping pills.
However, detective Timofey Lotosky has a different opinion. He tries to establish the involvement of the artist's girlfriend, Alice, in what happened. The girl behaves very strangely: she writes letters to herself, analyzes her relationship with David in detail, which during his lifetime led the artist to depression. Moreover, she reacted too calmly and even cheerfully to the news of his death.
Using an unusual interrogation system, where he does not ask the suspect a single question, but only silently "scans" his inner state, Timofey starts working with Alice. And for the first time in his practice, he "hears" nothing in response, as if he is not addressing the right person...
