The ancient Greek philosopher Socrates, like Confucius, did not leave behind any written works. However, his students, Plato and Xenophon, transmitted Socrates' philosophical views to us in the form of dialogues and short stories. Thanks to this, we know what Socrates taught, what his main values were, and what existential problems occupied his mind. This collection gathers the sayings of the wise philosopher, from whom readers can still learn today. However, sometimes in Plato's texts, Socrates says one thing, while in Xenophon's texts, on the same question, he says something completely different, as if contradicting himself. This is due to the memory and interpretation of the thoughts of his no less famous students. But it is all the more interesting to follow the chain of Socrates' reasoning and draw our own conclusions.
