The first part of the book is a record of conversations about life and uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto in April 1943, which Hanka Grupinska conducted with participants from 1985 to 2000.

The second part is a collection of over 300 biographies-epitaphs of soldiers of the Jewish Fighting Organization, based on a list sent to London by the organization's leaders in 1943.
