In the textbook, the author presents in an accessible form the viewpoints of various scientists on the functioning of the heart, blood vessels, capillaries, and circulation as a whole, and attempts to analyze the correspondence of general principles to the laws of hydrodynamics. Based on this analysis, considerations are given as to why Harvey's discovery of blood circulation in 1628 has not led to a breakthrough in physiology and medicine to this day. The textbook is intended for students and teachers of physiological, medical, and veterinary specialties.
