Various types of pumping equipment are described, their device is shown and the principle of action is set out. The classification is given and the pre -emptive areas of the application of pumps are determined. The main parameters and working characteristics of centrifugal pumps are considered, dependencies are presented for their calculation. The issues of the likeness and influence of the geometry of the working wheel on the pump parameters are highlighted. The main methods of regulating the pump operation to increase the area of its use, as well as methods of starting into operation, are shown. For the design of the stations, options for joint operation of pumps according to a parallel and consistent scheme are considered.
