Arkady Timofeevich Averchenko (1880–1925) was a Russian writer, journalist, satirist, playwright, and theater critic. Averchenko, a satirical writer, knew very well that children can be quite unpleasant creatures, not just little angels. Where do they get so much cunning, greed, deceit, and the ability to manipulate so skillfully, when they are still so young! Averchenko wrote many stories about such interesting children and the methods of their upbringing. The collection includes the most famous stories for children by the writer, such as "Children," "Seryozhkin Ruble," "Galochka," "The Scary Boy," and others.
