The memoirs of V.F. Bulgakov, secretary of L.N. Tolstoy in 1910 were written in 1946-1961. This volumetric work (26 parts) is published for the first time. It traces the whole life path of an outstanding cultural figure, writer V.F. Bulgakov, including a description of his childhood in Siberia, studying at Moscow University, life in Yasnaya Polyana in the last year of Tolstoy’s life, work by the Guardian of the Tolstoy Museum, communication with the family of a great writer and His followers, expulsions from Soviet Russia on a "philosophical ship" in 1922, life in exile, creating a Russian museum in Prague, staying in Nazi concentration camps, returning to the USSR in the USSR and work in the Museum of L.N. Tolstoy in the Museum of L. Tolstoy Yasnaya Polyana. In this publication, 5 selected parts are printed related to Tolstoy and covering the events of 1910 and subsequent years before the expulsion of V.F. Bulgakov abroad
