Linus Baker lives a strictly scheduled life: in the morning, he works as an inspector in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, and in the evening, he enjoys cozy evenings at home with his cat and old records. Linus has no intention of changing anything in his life until one fine day he receives a serious assignment from Extremely High Management. The inspector is tasked with visiting an orphanage on the mysterious Marsyas Island, where six unusual children reside - Lucifer's son, an unidentified green creature, a gnome girl, a wyvern, a werewolf boy, and a forest sprite. But they are not the only secret of the island. The orphanage is run by the enigmatic Arthur Parnass, who genuinely loves his wards and is definitely not as simple as he seems. The director is willing to do anything to protect the children from the dangers of the adult world, even if it means the world will have to burn to the ground.
