The textbook by Archpriest Gavriil Delitsyn, which served as the basis for our book, was first printed in St. Petersburg in 1880 under the title 'A Pious Mother Explains the Basic Subjects of God's Law within Her Family Circle'. It was one of the best resources for preschool education. During the pre-revolutionary years, the book underwent more than ten reprints and received approval from the Holy Synod. Its pages explain the basics of Orthodox doctrine, church sacraments, the church, and worship in simple and understandable language for children. The book can be recommended not only for homeschooling but also for Sunday schools. The book is recommended for publication by the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
