The book describes both household and industrial furnaces. Vladimir Efimovich Grum-Grzhimaylo (1864-1928)-Russian scientist, metallurgist engineer, teacher and production organizer, innovator. He headed the department of production at the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute, the Department of Theory of Steel and Ural University stoves in Yekaterinburg, taught the Moscow Mining Academy since the mid-1920s, and created the theory of calculating metallurgical furnaces, using the laws of hydraulics to the movement of gases in them.
