The holy Mount Athos and her statements can be likened by the candle, which the Lord speaks into the Gospel: You are the light of the world. The city, standing on the top of the mountain (Matt, 5, 14) cannot hide. Every time, Athos experienced spiritual flourishing, its light spread all over the world. Many traditions of worship and charter, books and spiritual enlightenment came to Slavic lands and to Russia as the rays of this light. The fertile strength of Athos contributed to spiritual lifting and livestream returned to the holy mountain. It is symbolic that in our days, the revival of Afonovsky monasticity copily coincided with difficult, but the gracious time of the revival of the Russian Church and monasticism, for which God will give, will follow the revival of Russia - the houses of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
