The book introduces the reader to materials that tell the story of the development of the stock market in our country after the adoption of the Law "On Securities Market" during the most dramatic period of ups and downs (1996-1999). It is especially valuable that the difficulties and successes of the pioneers are informally recounted by 140 eyewitnesses and participants in the process: stock exchange workers, brokers, heads of registrars, depositories, and regulators, government officials... The truthfulness of the witnesses' narratives is confirmed or not confirmed by the presented documents, compilations of articles from the periodical press. The book is a continuation of the series "History of the Stock Market," the beginning of which was laid in 2020 by the books "Experiments in Regulating the FCSCB and FSFR. Personal Cases and Deeds," and "The Lawless Period (1988-1996)."
