Konstantin Nikanorovich Plotnikov (1862 - ?) was an Olonets diocesan anti-schismatic missionary, a graduate of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, who voluntarily renounced his priesthood in 1901. In the 'History of the Russian Schism of the Old Believers,' Konstantin Nikanorovich primarily provides definitions for the general concepts of schism and sectarianism and explains their prerequisites. The author sheds light on the sentiments prevailing at that time among the clergy, interprets the innovations of Patriarch Nikon and the persecution of the Old Believer schismatics, and also examines the issues of the emergence of the priesthood and the joining of the Old Believers to the Church on exceptional terms. This text is based on the 1911 edition (St. Petersburg: I. V. Leontiev's printing house, 1911. - 208 p.).
