Among the humanitarian disciplines studied by cadets in the highest military educational institutions, historical disciplines are of particular importance. They laid the foundations of the historical consciousness of future officers, form their individuals as patriots of their country, the defenders of the Fatherland, create a basis for studying other academic disciplines. Historical knowledge is also necessary when organizing an educational officer in a division. The history of the Fatherland here plays a leading role.
Textbooks and teaching aids for domestic history are currently quite issued. The main difference of this textbook from others is its focus on the officer of the modern Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Another feature of this book is a summary of the experience of teaching historical disciplines in leading military universities of St. Petersburg: Military Academy of Communications named after S.M. Budennaya, Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy, the Military Space Academy named after A.F. Karaysky and others. The textbook in the author"s team includes nine doctors and two candidates of science.
The structure and content of the textbook comply with the Federal State Educational Standard. Each of the ten chapters reflect the relevant historical stages of Russia"s development and includes paragraphs that consider the most important and complex historical problems. Each section highlighted semantic blocks that meet the main didactic units of the curriculum.
After each chapter formulated questions for repetition, which are designed to optimize the independent work of cadets for the study of historical material. The list of references recommended for each chapter allows students to expand their knowledge, to penetrate deeper into the essence of the problems interested.
