The expanded and revised version of the fundamental edition, which received positive feedback from specialists, covers the history of the emergence and development of mining equipment at various stages of mineral resources exploitation - from the appearance of humanity to the present day. The evolution of various devices in key areas of mining (in Russia and abroad) is presented in detail and comprehensively: from the first mechanisms to the wide industrial production of modern machines for quarries, mines, shafts, and coal mines. Information on current innovations is also provided. In the second edition of the book (the first was released in 2017), new sections on hydromechanization, draglines, motor graders, aerial ropeways, and others have been added. Chapters on steam and electric engines, drilling machines, mining and quarry transport have been significantly revised. In the new 'Appendices' at the end of the book, there is a chronology of the emergence of firms and factories producing mining equipment, their most famous logos, examples of miners' lamps from the 19th-20th centuries, a series of characters from mining mythology, etc. 2nd edition, revised and expanded.
