The work provided to your attention is significantly different from all existing works on the history of domestic archaeological science.
The peculiarity of the History of Russian Archeology, written by an outstanding St. Petersburg scientist L.S. Kleyin, is that the reader is given the opportunity to look at the subject of three times: first as the history of events and institutions, then as a history of exercises, and in The third time - as on the history of personalities.
This latter is not an application, but the main content of the book, that is, the largest part of the first volume remained under the biography of the pre-revolutionary Russian archaeologists. This is, so to speak, the story in the faces. The biographies of archaeologists (the author in the first part of the study pays attention to 25 scientists) grouped by the role that this researcher played in the history of science: pioneers, founders, classics, etc.
The second book L.S. Klein on the history of the Russian archeology is entirely devoted to the archeology of the Soviet and post-Soviet periods. The history of science appears in this edition through the prism of 34 biographies of archaeologists of that time. As in the first volume, essays are grouped by the role in the history of science, which played by their heroes: transmitters of tradition, implementers of the Marxist methodology, etc. Personal acquaintance of the author with many heroes of the book and a living language, which is written to this study, are able to engage even Unprepared reader in a complex, but eventful world of domestic archeology.
