The content and didactic system of the line textbooks fully comply with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard. The textbooks received positive conclusions of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Education.
Along with the author’s text, there is an additional, presented by historical sources (these are excerpts from the annals, birch bark letters, legislative acts, literary works of that period, notes of foreigners, etc).
Textbooks are distinguished by great attention to tasks of a productive and creative nature. The blocks of the tasks “check ourselves” (4–7 tasks) and “think and reason” (3-6 tasks) accompany each paragraph. There are also tasks for fragments of historical sources, the final issues of a generalizing nature for each chapter, design tasks at the end of the textbook to the entire course.
A special background is highlighted the section “History near”, the purpose of which is to interest the student with one or another plot, to push the topic to an independent in-depth study of the topic, including using Internet resources
