The second volume of the work by a well-known Polish historian, as well as the governor of the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria within the Austro-Hungarian Empire, is dedicated to the exposition of events after the third partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth until the restoration of the Polish state in 1918 and the establishment of borders in 1923. Analyzing archival documents, critically evaluating numerous works by other scholars, and drawing on his own experience in political activities, the author impartially presents historical facts, providing an opportunity to understand the profound processes that took place not only in Poland but also throughout Europe at that time, as well as to comprehend the reasons behind many events of the present day.
