The monograph proposed to the Russian reader is a fundamental work that generalizes and systematizing discussions on the problems of the democratic structure of society, which have been conducted over the past centuries: from the French revolution of the late XVIII century (Charles Montesquieu) to the present day (Norberto Bobbio) The picture of the evolution of democracy, drawn against the general background of the development of European civilization, looks bright and multi -color. In this picture, democracy is represented as the direction of social thought, which, on the one hand, constantly transforming, adapts to new social requests, on the other hand, itself forms the goals of a socio-political action. The author very delicately, but convincingly leads readers to the conclusion that democracy, as a progressive form of a political structure, is inherently inherent in the desire to establish social harmony in society
