The monograph is the first comprehensive study of the history of monumental-decorative relief of the 1920-1930s in the USSR. The author"s task was to analyze the evolution of this traditional type of sculpture in the context of the modernist interpretation of the image of architectural buildings. The ideological program of the 20th century was largely related to the understanding of progressive architecture as a rainless, therefore the fact of the director introduction of the sculpture in the architecture of the 1930s in the USSR is still a historical and methodological problem. For understanding, the book considers the circumstances of the formation of a modern presentation of monumental-decorative art and its role in the urban environment. A special place in the publication is occupied by the materials to the biographies of sculptors", reference articles of which are based on unnecessary archival materials collected in the 1920-1930s by the historian of the Domestic Sculpture B. Ternovets, as well as in the 1960-2010s, as well as in the 1960-2010s Division of the dictionary of artists Rear Rakh L.L. Macoo. The results of a multi-year study of the author, published in the book, are designed to show the diversity of regulation of the creative labor of Soviet artists. The monograph is of interest to the wide range of specialists: historians of art and architecture, historians, cultural scientists, as well as for all readers interested in the culture and art of the USSR
