Journalist Pavel Voshchanov met and became close to Boris Yeltsin in early 1988, when the ex-head of the Moscow City Committee of the CPSU was exiled to the “hardware re-education” in the USSR State Construction. A year later, when the future first president of Russia went into big politics, Voshchanov began to act as a spokesman Yeltsin, during the August coup of 1991, it was Voschanov who held a press conference within the walls of the White House. In February 1992, due to growing personal disagreements with Yeltsin, Pavel Voshchanov resigned.
In his book, he cites the incredible details of Boris Yeltsin’s fantastic take -off, talks about those people in Russia and abroad who supported the politician who was disgraced at first and helped him to rise, speaks of the reasons for the growing influence of Yeltsin and his final victory in 1991. Voshchanov’s book is really unique, because he, as a spokesman for the president, knew a lot of things that were unknown to the rest
