Boris Mikhailovich Zhitkov (1872-1943) - Russian and Soviet zoologist, hunting expert, ecologist, biogeographer, traveler, publicist, researcher of the North of Russia, professor of Moscow University and Petrovsky Agricultural Academy. In 1902 and 1908 under the leadership of B.M. Zhitkov conducted large expeditions of the Russian Geographical Society at the Kanin and Yamal Peninsula.
