Among the main tasks of Smersh was the fight against enemy saboteurs and paratroopers. The group of Lieutenant Gulkin followed the trail of the enemy and at the right time neutralizes the Germans, because it is not for nothing that the group is called the wolfhounds Smersh.
Among Smersh employees were those who fought with the enemy from the first day of the war. Junior Lieutenant Alexander Gulkin met the Nazis on the border on June 22, 1941. His outpost lasted until late in the evening, restraining the onslaught of many times superior forces, perishing almost in full force. Miraculously went to his own, Gulkin was in the training camp of the special departments management, which were soon transformed into the GUKR SMERSH.
In the summer of 1943, the Gulkina group is already operating in the Voronezh direction, completing the tasks of the command to take languages. A special counterintelligence group has its own “quiet” war-fights with German sabotage and reconnaissance groups, the capture of Abwehr agents. The “quiet” war that front -line correspondents will not be written in newspapers, but which does not stop for a day or an hour.
In his work, the author shows the methods of work of Soviet counterintelligence with enemy landings and sabotage and intelligence groups, methods of taking “languages” and interpersonal relations between SMERSHA officers
