The book is dedicated to the history of Russian armored trains from the beginning of the twentieth century until the end of the First World War. When writing it, archival documents were used primarily, some of which were first introduced into scientific circulation. The work tells in detail about the prerequisites for the appearance of armored trains in our country, the first implemented and unrealized projects, the construction of armored trains during the First World War, their combat use and changes in their use in battles. Brief biographical information is also given about people who contributed to the development of armored train in our country at the beginning of the twentieth century. The history of the creation and combat path of all armored riding units of the Russian army during the First World War, as well as their further fate during the civil war in Russia, has been examined in detail. The book is illustrated by a large number of photographs and drawings, some of which are published for the first time
