The Russian-Swedish war of 1788-1790 is notable for the fact that in essence this war was domestic, since the goal of Swedish aggression was the seizure of the Russian capital of St. Petersburg. That is why it caused a huge patriotic upsurge of all classes of Russian society. In addition, due to the circumstances, the Russian-Swedish war of 1788-1790 was primarily a naval war in which the entire Russian Baltic Fleet participated. According to the number of naval forces participating in it, the number and scale of marine battles, this war has no analogues in the entire history of Russia. This is why the Russian-Swedish war of 1788-1790 deserves a careful study of historians and the memory of descendants.
The basis of the book is two historical labor. The first is “The actions of the Russian fleet during the Russian war with Sweden in 1788-1790”, written by the historian of the Russian fleet V.F. Golovachev. The second is “The military operations of the Russian fleet against Swedish in 1788, 89 and 90, gleaned from day notes and the reports of the chief over one”, owned by Admiral A.S. Shishkova and written by reports and diary entries by Admiral V.Ya. Chichagov.
In the book proposed, the style, spelling, punctuation, design of notes, writing geographical names, surnames, titles, titles and marine terms are preserved if possible
