The Polish-Soviet war broke out in 1919 after the First World War. The author of this book, Vladislav Sikorsky, then commanded the 9th infantry division and the Polesie group of troops in the Kiev operation, the 5th Army in the Warsaw operation, as well as the 3rd Army in battles for the Zashache. Based on the documents of the historical service of the General Staff, his records of the war and the memoirs of participants in those battles, he tries to recreate the overall picture of the struggle, while trying to remain objective to the historical drama
