The book of the French translator, writer Iva Gauthier (born 1960) is dedicated to the Soviet poet, theater and film actor, and songwriter to Vladimir Semenovich Vysotsky (1938-1980) The author gives a holistic idea of the poet’s creative path, shows the scale and significance of his personality, enters his life into the cultural context of the era. The main text of the book is complemented by the chronology of Vysotsky’s life, brief data about his friends, celebrities with whom he spoke, his guitar, museums of his name in different countries, etc.
