In the 20th century, in many Russian cities, an exotic ethnic group - Assyrians, sometimes called "Aisora", appeared for our country. They consider themselves descendants of the population of ancient Assyria in Mesopotamia, being in Russia due to the tragic circumstances of the First World War.
Since the 1920-1930s. The Assyrians - families of refugees from various places of Vansky Vilaiet Turkey and the Urmias of the North -West Iran - settled in many regional and district centers of the European part of the USSR. Small diasporas arose in a number of cities on the Verkhnye Volga, in the Tver, Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Ivanovo regions, where they played a noticeable role in urban life. Their stories are dedicated to the book.
