Vedas of the Slavs. Book 1

In the book of S.I. Verkovich "Veda Slavs", book 1, published in 1874 in Belgrade (now a reprint edition in the Russian translation), the epic songs and traditions in the Rodopian mountains among the Bulgarian peoples - Pomakov and Marvakov collected. There are many songs about the ingenious singer and musician Orpheus - the king and priest of the Thracian people, including the ancient Bulgarian song about Orpheus", which at the First Archaeological Congress in Moscow in 1875 won an honorary letter, and Verkovich himself was awarded the gold medal and the Order Saint Anna.
