The composition of “Nine books of memorable acts and statements”, which is very popular in antiquity and in the Middle Ages, belongs to the Roman writer Valery Maxim (the first third of the 1st century AD) This is an interesting monument of historical thought, literary creativity and the development of the Latin language, a kind of manual for speakers, in which instant and entertaining examples for various cases are grouped according to thematic rubrics.
