Nikolai Vladislavovich Valentinov (Volsky), a public and politician, left a rich creative heritage: journalistic, memoir, epistolary. In the series "Literary Monuments of Russian Life", his memories of meetings with Moscow Symbols are published. These are practically the only memoirs about the Symbolists, written not by the writer, not a critic and not a historian of literature. Thanks to the independence of the thought of Volsky, his original view of processes, phenomena and people "two years with the Symbols" will be interesting not only to philologists, but also to everyone who is not indifferent to the history of Russian literature
