The book presents two works of the French writer Louis Alexis Bertren (literary pseudonym Louis de Sudak, 1852–1918) For a long time, for about thirty years, he lived in Crimea-in Sudak and Feodosia, was the vice-console of France, Turkey and Spain in Feodosia. Louis Bertren is the author of novels, short stories, plays, historical research and travel notes.
His book “Traveling in the Crimea: South Coast” was published in Paris in 1892 (in the Russian translation we publish it for the first time), the essay “The Sea Port of Feodosia” saw the light in the French hundred in 1896. Their artistic advantages will undoubtedly be highly appreciated by lovers of memoir literature, and the information contained in them about the Crimea of the late XIX - early XX centuries will be valuable for historians, ethnographers, art historians.
In the application to the book, the sister of the author - Jeanne Bertren is published. Her travel notes “Crimean Monastery” are dedicated to the Toplovs Convent. The essay was published in Paris in 1908 and is also published in Russian for the first time
