The book examines the initial stage of the debt crisis of the 2010s in Greece, when the Government of the PACOK, headed by Papandreu, was in power in the country. The main trends in the development of Greece in the pre-crisis decade, which predetermined the formation of a set of financial and economic problems, are considered, because of which the country was on the verge of default. The evolution of the debt crisis was investigated at the end of 2009 - 2011, special attention is paid to the transformation of the position of the EU leadership on the issue of its settlement. Various directions of the anti -crisis policy of the government of Papandreu are analyzed, its continuity was revealed at the stages before and after the conclusion of the Credit Agreement of Greece with the “triple” of creditors - the European Commission, the ECB and the IMF.
