The monograph is the result of a long -term research of the author dedicated to fictions in law. It reveals the concept and essence of legal fiction in law, the causes of legal fictions are considered, and the need to apply them in law is justified. In this regard, the views of lawyers of various eras on the essence of the phenomenon of fiction are investigated. Considerable attention is paid to the classification of legal fictions.
