Before the reader is a monument of ancient Russian literature: a poetic story about the unsuccessful campaign of the Seversky princes, led by Igor on Polovtsy in 1185. The uniqueness of this publication lies in the fact that the book contains the most famous translations of Russian writers and poets of the 19th century: N.M. Karamzin, A.N. Maikova, V.A. Zhukovsky, L.A. Meya, N.V. Herbel. These translations are marked by high artistic value of execution and the peculiarity of the interpretation of the text. They used universal and noisy recognition at one time. Artist I.I. Golikov (1886-1937) - an outstanding icon painter, one of the initiators of the Palekh miniature, back in 1934 made a gift edition of the Words of Igor"s Regiment, created not only illustrations, but also fulfilled the entire text. The contemporary artist, master of lacquer miniatures Vladimir Nemov made new restored prescriptions specifically for this publication, thereby inhaled the second life into Golikov’s famous drawings. The publication was prepared for the 835th anniversary of the work
